I have to tell you how glad we were to find your web site. Our dog Mandy had ACL replaced and 5 weeks ago. We were told to keep her on drugs and little walks or just common sense instruction. Our dog is doing ok but with your rehab book I am sure we will be doing just great! Thank you for making this available to the public.

I just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful rehab guide and other resources you provide. My 10 year old 90lb American Bulldog, Zeke, completely tore his ACL and had his repair surgery 2 weeks ago. After leaving the vet we were basically told "keep him on a leash for 8 weeks, no stairs and very little movement." That was it. We felt so lost when we got him home. Finding your website and down...loading the rehab guide was the best thing in the world, I even gave a copy of the rehab guide to my vet so he could recommend it to others after surgery. Zeke is doing amazingly well. When we do his SLOW walks he puts almost all of his weight on his surgery leg and now even uses it on his own when we let him "out on the town" aka around the first floor of our house for 30 minutes. I am amazed at how fast he is recovering and I feel a big part of it has to do with his rehab work. Thanks again!!!!

This is Phyllis Darlene, our 1 yr old English Bulldog! We just returned from the vet after getting her sutures removed from her 2nd ACL repair in the past 4 months. She also had to have the first leg re-operated on as the knee infected post-op. What a trooper she's been, gallumping along, smiling and snorting the whole way! Thanks for the week-by-week advise, cruciate guide and for making the GlycanAid chewable. Dr. J even has a bully on his lap in a pictures in the cruciate guide that looks a lot like Phyllis...black and white! Love the bullies!

Hi Dr. James,
Bailey had his surgery [lateral suture with securo implant system] one week ago tomorrow. He is doing very well - we are following the recommendations in your rehab guide. The guide is a great help! Included in the cost of his surgery is an initial PT assessment 2 weeks post-op at a local facility. I plan to take advantage of that.
He is an 8 yo australian cattle dog - the injury came during a game of chase the laser toy - I guess I should have known dogs shouldn't play with cat toys! Interesting that he did not cry out at the time, but we noticed him limping a little later that morning.
Thanks for your guidance.

Things are going quite well and Lola's stitches come out on Friday. I can not tell you how much I appreciate all of the information you have provided. I told my vet about it when I picked Lola up after her surgery, and she is very interested. I will recommend that she provide the address for all her ACL patients. I am so thankful for the internet. Without it I would not have had access to all the wonderful information I have found. I found a site that has instruction for using T touch massage on your dogs. This has been so helpful to both Lola and myself. Again, thank you for checking on Lola's progress, but especially for making your protocol of after care and rehab available on the internet.

Bailey, our five year old black lab recovering from ACL surgery, has found the Home Rehabilitation Booklet a wonderful help for her owner - she particularly liked the moist heat therapy and massage - and still does even though we have passed the point where it is necessary. Seriously the booklet has been a great help - I showed it to my vet and he thinks it is a really good source of information. We are on week 5 ( should be on week 6 but my mom had hip replacement surgery two weeks ago and my time was pretty crunched) and Bailey is doing really well. Went for her one month check - up and our vet thought she was several weeks ahead of where she should be in terms of movement and weight on her leg. Information is well written, concise and the descriptions of each activity ( i.e. puppy sits) very easy to understand. Have also appreciated the weekly emails which have given additional information and tips. Thanks

When my 7 year old year old Yorkie had ACL surgery I was devastated. I spent hours searching through the web for information on the recovery process but could not find anything satisfactory until I came upon the Top Dog Heath Website. It was a God sent, the website not only had a depth of information but many testimonials on other dog owner's experiences. I got the Home Rehabilitation Booklet and followed the instructions. I found the instructions and information most helpful and it helped my dog's recovery. The website gave me a piece of mind and helped speed up my dogs recovery. This site is a must for any dog owner and is highly recommended.
